Since July of 2006, the City of Bainbridge Island (COBI), Washington State Ferries (WSF) and Kitsap Transit (KT) have been coordinating planning efforts to develop visions and plans for the Ferry and Gateway neighborhoods, the Highway 305 corridor, the waterfront and expansion of the WSF terminal. COBI is preparing an environmental impact statement addressing plans for Waterfront Park and the Ferry and Gateway zoning districts. During the initial scoping phase, citizens are asked to review proposals and provide comments on the range of options and the environmental impacts that should be considered in the Environmental Impact Statement. WSF is conducting a separate environmental review of the proposed Ferry Terminal expansion. The consultation documents summarize the proposals.
